Hockey on the North Shore since 2012.
The BC Spartans were founded in 2012 by James Wall, who started the spring hockey program the same year he became West Vancouver Minor Hockey’s first ever hockey director. The goal has never changed: offer a great playing experience for players of all ages and levels, with development and life skills as the philosophy of the program.
Today the Spartans offer competitive spring teams in a number of age divisions, open to hockey players from the North Shore and the surrounding nearby communities. Practices and home games run at Canlan North Vancouver and the West Vancouver Arena, and every team competes in tournaments throughout the Lower Mainland — and occasionally beyond.
BC Spartans hockey means premium coaching with a focus on skill development. Our program provides an opportunity for highly skilled and motivated hockey players to play with each other, to learn from each other and to develop relationships within a structured environment led by professional coaches and mentors. Our motto is "Perfect Practice."
There is nothing like the intensity, focus and camaraderie found when playing spring hockey — and hockey should be the best part of the week.
Structured, high-tempo hockey for highly skilled and motivated players who want to compete at an elite level.
I am a member of the team, and I rely on the team. I defer to it and sacrifice for it — because the team, not the individual, is the ultimate champion.
